Past Events

Special offerings have included:

During Lent 2008

· Video-Bible Study of "The Acts of the Apostles" Using an instructional video and personal reflection, class members were introduced to certain members of the community that came to be called the church, see them grow in their understanding of what God called them to do, and follow them as they set out to cross the entire world to tell the stories of Jesus and the love of God shared with all people through Jesus Christ.

· A presentation on Sunday morning, December 10th, about the Millennium Development Goals and an exciting new way that St. Barnabas can join with other parishes in the diocese to assist AIDS orphans in Tanzania.

· The Fourth Annual St. Barnabas summer film series. It screened three popular films and included a discussion afterwards for the adults, youth, and children present.

· A presentation on Sunday evening, December 3rd, at 7:00 p.m., entitled, "Mary, the Mother of Our Lord," led by Mary Donovan (a perfect way to begin the season of Advent).

· A five-part Lenten series in 2007 led by the Rector entitled, "Searching for Spirituality: Do you long for a fuller life?" This video series features Joan Chittister, a Benedictine nun, teacher, author, and sociologist who explores the search for wholeness.

· Periodic Sunday luncheons introducing newcomers to St. Barnabas, the Episcopal Church, and the Christian journey.
