The Music Department Presents

Organ Recital

Adam J. Brakel Performs

It is an appealing program with a couple of pieces by the jazz musician George Shearing and with several pieces that call for the utmost virtuosity in organ playing that you will not hear everywhere. One such piece is Marcel Dupré’s “Variations on a Noel.” It is like a display of fireworks that keeps building up and then at the end all of the fireworks go off at the same time. Another such virtuosic piece on the program will be “Octaves” from the 6 Etudes of Jeanne Demessieux.
