Rector

The Reverend Nora Smith was raised here in Irvington and is a graduate of Irvington High School, Brandeis University and the Berkeley Divinity School at Yale University. She holds a B.A. in Anthropology, and a Masters of Divinity with a certificate in Anglican Studies. After a twenty year career in fashion footwear, first as a buyer for Macy's and then as Vice President of Sales for such brands as Keds, Bandolino and Kate Spade, Nora discerned a call to ministry and left to pursue ordination and theological education.  Nora trained at St. Peter's Church in Peekskill, New York, Trinity Church in Southport, Connecticut and served as Associate Vicar at The Church of the Intercession in Harlem before being elected the thirteenth rector of St. Barnabas in 2009. Assistant Rector

 

The Reverend Lindsay Lunnum is a native of the Pacific Northwest, but fell in love with New York when she fell in love and married a New Yorker. She is a graduate of Seattle Pacific University and the Berkeley Divinity School at Yale University. Prior to St. Barnabas, Lindsay served as the Assistant Rector at St. Martin’s Church in Providence, RI. Before she was ordained, Lindsay had an active lay ministry at several parishes in Manhattan. She worked in communications, publishing, and event planning at Trinity Church Wall Street and led young adult ministries at St. Bartholomew’s and the Church of the Holy Trinity. Lindsay is married to James McGeveran, who is a forensic psychologist, and lives in Yonkers with their two young children, Seamus and Margaret, and their dog, Ruby. Organist/Choir Master 

Mr. Donald G. Butt has been in charge of music at St. Barnabas since 1968.  He is a graduate of Tufts University and The New England Conservatory of Music, and taught music at The Hackley School for several years before coming to St. Barnabas.  Don is a Bostonian. Parish Secretary/Office Manager 

Ms. Sue Stanley has been our office manager for over 15 years.  She lives just down the road in Irvington with her son Sebastian and her kitty Boomer. Her daughter Laurel lives close by and has recently introduced Sue to bicycling.
